The role of the counselors at the CCL is to respond to the unique needs of the gifted child. It is hoped that children will develop an appreciation of their talents, sensitivities, and interests. Supporting the CCL's children and their families is a daily goal and is done in a variety of ways. The counselors meet individually with students, provide whole group lessons on topics pertinent to gifted students, lead small group activities, consult with families to support student needs, conduct Care Team meetings, provide academic support and guidance, advocate for at-risk children, and provide information on gifted-related topics.
